Dr. Stanford received his B.S. from Azusa Pacific University in 2001, at which time he began working at Hillsides Home for Children in Pasadena, California. Dr. Stanford completed his Psy.D. in clinical psychology in 2009 at California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP). Dr. Stanford began his training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) in 2007 with a year-long internship at San Fernando Valley Community Mental Health, treating agoraphobia, generalized anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic, phobias, and social anxiety. He also trained at Los Angeles LGBT Center, Life Skills Treatment Program, and Ocean Park Community Center, where he received intensive supervision in gender and sexual minority stress, grief, substance abuse recovery, terminal illness, and trauma.  

Dr. Stanford is a member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT), and is currently pursuing a Diplomate membership at the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. He is also a member of World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). Dr. Stanford has worked alongside Dr. Joel Becker for the past three years, specializing in the treatment of anxiety, agoraphobia, OCD, and panic, depression, and sleep disturbance. Dr. Stanford sees adolescents (age 14 and older), adults, and seniors in individual and family therapy. He is a Medicare provider and currently has openings for new clients.
