Dr. Joel L. Becker received his doctorate in 1977 from the University of Georgia. He did his internship at the Massachusetts Mental Health Center where he was a Clinical Fellow in Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Becker founded Behavior Associates and The Boston Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy in the late 1970’s. These were the early years of Cognitive-Behavior Therapy and Dr. Becker studied and interacted with the early leaders and pioneers in the field (e.g. Aaron Beck, Albert Ellis, B.F. Skinner and others).

Dr. Stanford received his B.S. from Azusa Pacific University in 2001, at which time he began working at Hillsides Home for Children in Pasadena, California. Dr. Stanford completed his Psy.D. in clinical psychology in 2009 at California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP). Dr. Stanford began his training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) in 2007 with a year-long internship at San Fernando Valley Community Mental Health, treating agoraphobia, generalized anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic, phobias, and social anxiety. He also trained at Los Angeles LGBT Center, Life Skills Treatment Program, and Ocean Park Community Center, where he received intensive supervision in gender and sexual minority stress, grief, substance abuse recovery, terminal illness, and trauma.

Dr. Pamela Elfenbaum received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from USC, her Masters in Public Health from UCLA, and her B.A. in Psychology from UC Berkeley. Dr. Elfenbaum completed her internship at UCLA Counseling and Psychological Services and a post-doctoral fellowship at Loyola Marymount University. Dr. Elfenbaum also received specialized training in Mind/Body Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and also completed couples training through the Gottman Institute.

Denica Gordon-Mandel is a licensed therapist specializing in evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as providing CBT-Based Treatment for Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRB). Megan L. Wagner, Ph.d., BCB

Dr. Megan L. Wagner completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a concentration in Biological & Evolutionary Sciences from the Schreyer Honors College at Penn State University in 2005. Dr. Wagner received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 2011 from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. As part of her doctoral training, Dr. Wagner completed a one-year, APA-accredited internship at UCLA Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) where she trained in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and psychodynamic therapy, and focused on treating anxiety and mood disorders as well as attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Flora Zaken-Greenberg, Ph.D.

Dr. Zaken-Greenberg earned a Master’s Degree in General Experimental Psychology from Florida Atlantic University in 1980.  At that time, her research specialty was children’s memory. She then worked for two years as a staff research associate at Northwestern University studying children’s memory and learning.  Dr. Zaken-Greenberg then attended the University of Florida where she earned a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology. Her dissertation involved researching the effectiveness of family therapy training techniques.  Dr. Zaken-Greenberg had several sub-specialties during her training, including marital and family therapy, sex therapy, group therapy, and child/adolescent/adult therapy. Her therapy modalities were cognitive-behavioral therapy, structural family therapy, and personal construct psychotherapy. 

In addition to her training in therapy, Dr. Zaken-Greenberg also developed a specialty in psychological and neuropsychological diagnostic testing and evaluation. As part of her doctoral training, Dr. Zaken-Greenberg completed a clinical internship at the Veteran’s Administration in Gainesville, with specializations in psychological and neuropsychological evaluations, alcohol and substance abuse, sex therapy, oncology and health psychology, and post-traumatic stress disorder.  She also trained at Shands Teaching Hospital on the Children’s Inpatient Diabetes Project Unit.
